Winter Outdoor Season

Oregon Soccer Academy is proud to offer Winter Outdoor Soccer to the U15-18 player! Having started in 2003, the Winter Outdoor season promises to be an exciting time to watch talented teens continue with their love for the game following their high school season.

OSA's goal is to develop Premier and upper Division teams. Rosters will be formed to achieve that goal. Once teams are formed, practices are held twice a week and will focus on specific individual techniques and team tactical awareness. This is a highly competitive season and players must be committed to their team.

Individuals who are invited to join OSA will receive the best coaching philosophy the Northwest offers. Head coach Bernie Fagan selects his coaching staff personally. Each team coach will build competitive teams through high expectations, hard work, and dedication. The coaching staff has years of experience coaching high school, college, and adult players and are accomplished players themselves.

U15-18 Calendar Overview
Tryouts are held each November and pre-season training starts in January. League games are February to April. All teams will participate in a post-season tournament during the month of April.

Following the Winter season, players are invited to continue their fitness training and skill development by participating in summer tournament teams. Summer tournament practices start mid-June and teams will be enrolled in four summer tournaments ending in early August. This is a great time to prepare for your High School tryouts!

Should you be invited to join OSA

Pre-season and season practices will be held at PGE Park. Practices will be held two days per week (schedule TBA). Your individual coach will notify you of additional practices.

Season games are played on Saturdays and/or Sundays from February to April.

Post-season events include a tournament held during the months of April or May, the OSA Awards Ceremony, and the summer tournament season.

Summer tournaments may include games Friday through Sunday. All OSA sponsored tournaments are in the Portland-Metro area.

Player breaks are incorporated into the winter schedule and summer tournament schedule. In order for the team to function well members should attend all pre-season practices in preparation for their season. Please note that the schedule offers two designated player breaks which will assist you in making your spring and summer vacation schedule and plans. See our Calendar of Events.

Commitment is expected from the players and their families to arrive promptly to all practices, games and tournaments. The coaching staff must be notified in advance if a player is unable to attend.

The Code of Conduct is a document outlining the responsibilities of the player, parent, coach and club. Oregon Soccer Academy knows success can be achieved when all interested parties are aware of the expectations early on. Therefore, the Code of Conduct is provided to each family and signatures of commitment are required from the player and parent prior to acceptance into OSA.

Community Involvement through Outreach opportunities is also encouraged. Club members provide support for our friends at Special Olympics by assisting the athletes during their annual tournament. This is a wonderful time for OSA players to interact in their community. Other opportunities, such as participation in Race for the Cure, are also promoted.

Parent Meeting attendance is required of one or both parents. An enrollment package will be sent to families prior to this meeting. The package includes a list of the necessary documentation to be reviewed and returned to the registrar at the meeting.

The Annual Schedule will give you the overview of the winter season expectations and summer tournament season. Please note that the schedule offers two designated player breaks which will assist you in making your summer vacation schedule and plans. See our Calendar of Events.
