                                      Summer / Fall

The Fall Outdoor Soccer season is the more competitive season of the year. Once a player confirms their registration on an OSA team, they are expected to focus on their skill development and team participation during the summer tournaments and fall league. The focus of the season will be to develop individual skills and tactics, enhance player's techniques, promote a system of play, and encourage understanding of field positions.

AGE GROUP - Open to all U11-U14 boys and girls    Age Group Chart-->

SEASON - May through mid-November

TRYOUT - All players must tryout for an OSA team; there is no fee for tryouts. Tryouts will be held in May; check the tryout schedule for details.

TEAMS - Teams play 11v11
Rosters will be limited to 18 players per team.
OSA's goal is to form premier and upper division teams; rosters will be formed to achieve that goal.

PRACTICE - May through mid-November
Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings; time TBA.
PGE Park, Portland State University, Lincoln High School, and/or West Hills Christian School.

TOURNAMENTS - Summer Teams will participate in 2-3 summer tournaments and the Qualifying Tournament. Tournaments TBA.

GAMES - League games are played September through October
Saturdays and/or Sundays
Schedule TBA
Portland-metro area primarily. Depending on the league placement, teams may have to travel occasionally to Oregon cities outside the Portland-metro area.

POST-SEASON - Teams will participate in 1 post-season tournament (President's Cup or State Cup). Tournment games are the first few weeks of November. Teams advancing to the Quarterfinal round of the State Cup (held in April) are expected to play in the spring outdoor season.

FEE - $1025 per player (2008)

Included: Tryouts, OYSA membership, insurance, referees, league games; coaching fees for summer and fall; field fees for practices and games; coaching equipment; tournaments including 2-3 summer tournaments, Qualifying Tournament, and one post-season tournament; Academy Training Centers (U11-12 players) or Academy Team Training (U13-14 players); OSA Family Festival;
Portland Timbers season ticket for the player; club administration.

Not included: Uniform and training gear; soccer shoes and shin guards; travel expenses.

UNIFORM - All players are required to have OSA adidas sweats, 2 complete game kits, training shorts and shirt, scrimmage vest, backpack, and ball. New players for the fall season will need to purchase these items through the OSA office at an additional fee of approximately $275. uniform info ->

REGISTER - Returning players will automatically be registered for tryouts.
